Bruno Nuttens
Bruno Nuttens, originally from Belgium, became a full-time pipe maker in 2018 after years of restoring estate pipes. His journey began in 2012 when he purchased a collection of estate pipes, restoring and reselling them. Over six years, he restored thousands of pipes, refining his skills and understanding of craftsmanship.
In 2013, Nuttens joined the Confrérie des Maîtres Pipiers de Saint-Claude and met Pierre Morel, who inspired him to create pipes, not just restore them. Training with Morel in 2014, he honed his techniques and began making his own pipes alongside his restoration work.
In 2019, a pivotal meeting with Tom Eltang in Denmark expanded Nuttens' skills, blending Danish freehand methods with the French techniques he learned from Morel. His portfolio includes Heritage and Bing's lines, inspired by traditional French styles, and handmade pipes crafted entirely by hand, showcasing Danish artistry.
Living in southeastern France in a restored 1781 home, Nuttens continues to craft unique pipes, drawing inspiration from legendary artisans and the natural beauty around him.
