Emiliano

Handmade in Brazil, Emiliano Pipes represent the passion and craftsmanship of Emanuel de Queiroz Emiliano. Combining his love for pipe smoking with his artistic sensibilities, Emiliano has carved a niche for himself in the world of artisanal pipe making.

Born in Fortaleza, Brazil, Emiliano developed an early fascination with the arts. As a child, he dreamed of becoming a professional draftsman, and during his teenage years, he aspired to study architecture. Though his career took a different path, his passion for aesthetics remained a driving force in his life. After moving to Curitiba, in southern Brazil, he pursued professional photography—a discipline that further honed his artistic eye and appreciation for form, texture, and design.

Emiliano’s love for pipe smoking began during his time in seminary, where he embraced the companionship that pipes foster—both between a smoker and their pipe and among fellow enthusiasts. In 2017, at just 23 years old, he was captivated by the world of artisan pipes. Inspired by the craftsmanship of Brazilian and international pipe makers, he set out to create his own.

Without formal training or specialized tools, Emiliano crafted his first pipe using only Brazilian walnut, a block of resin, and basic hand tools. His dedication quickly paid off—after sharing a photo of his creation online, he received commission requests, launching his career as a pipe maker. Gradually, he invested in high-quality tools and established his own workshop in Curitiba.

Emiliano’s skills grew rapidly as he connected with fellow Brazilian pipe makers, learning firsthand about engineering, shaping, and finishing techniques. His journey took him to Italy, where he studied under experienced Italian pipe makers, refining his craftsmanship and deepening his understanding of pipe artistry.

Today, Emiliano is recognized for his complex shaping, precision engineering, and elegant finishes. His pipes are handmade from premium Italian briar and paired with hand-cut ebonite stems. He draws inspiration from Danish pipe design, often favoring classic, symmetrical shapes with a modern artistic touch. When incorporating accents, he prioritizes natural and refined materials, ensuring each piece exudes both beauty and function.

The quarantine of 2020 marked a pivotal moment in Emiliano’s journey, as he crafted his first handmade pipe—an experience that solidified his commitment to the craft. Five years later, he is an established and respected pipe maker, blending his lifelong artistic influences with meticulous craftsmanship.

Beyond his workshop, Emiliano is a passionate sports enthusiast, enjoying both soccer and basketball. A dedicated pipe smoker himself, he appreciates a wide range of tobaccos, with English blends being his personal favorite.
